AubSauce Wins 2019 ‘People’s Choice’ Award at Flavor of Georgia Food Product Contest

ATLANTA (March 19, 2019) — AubSauce, the small-batch, gourmet barbecue sauce company, won the People’s Choice Award at the 2019 Flavor of Georgia Food Product Contest.

A program of the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences' Center for Agribusiness and Economic Development, Flavor of Georgia is an annual agricultural showcase that highlights the most promising and up-and-coming food entrepreneurs from across the state.

The contest featured 11 categories for food makers to showcase their prototypes or commercially available made-in-Georgia food products.

AubSauce was one of 33 companies selected out of the total 138 products that entered the contest. The company’s Spicy Peach Barbecue Sauce was named a finalist in the barbecue sauce category.

“To have won the People’s Choice Award and to have been named a barbecue sauce finalist is doubly humbling and I am so proud to have been a part of the Flavor of Georgia experience,” said AubSauce creator Aubrey Lenyard. “Just a year ago, I was just starting out with an idea for a barbecue sauce. To see that dream come to fruition after working to develop and build AubSauce for this past year is truly amazing.”

The Flavor of Georgia recognitions are just the latest milestones for AubSauce, which was founded in 2018: In December 2018, the company announced Savi Provisions market in Decatur, Ga. would be the first local retail outlet to carry the brand. That announcement came after AubSauce’s successful Kickstarter campaign in which the company raised more than $10,000 — twice the funding goal amount.

The company official launched in the spring of 2019.
